Excuse my random yay-me post, but I'd just like to post this to say that long hours of hard work and putting up with loads of BS have finally paid off:
I got my promotion! So, I'm now offically the bird specialist at my store. Which means that they now pay me almost 9.50/hour to play with cute little babies. Who could want more?
This is a bittersweet moment, because this is probably the highest I'll try to achieve to until I graduate college and leave this company. Because I'd rather put my left boob in a meat grinder than be a manager at this store. (Another fifty cents is not worth 10x the bullshit)
But, regardless, YAY!!!!

cool, and I totally hear you. I managed a store for YEARS ... 'managed' being a cute little term for 'didn't do anything like a manager but had to take the shit of one'. Did I regularly go to the bank? no. did I ever do payroll? No. Did I ever get to actually FILE our orders and place them without the owner's drastic changes / additions in the wrong place/reductions past bad sales points? No. I did all that crap at the job before then, and got paid NOTHING like a manager's salary. I'd rather have been able to DO that stuff at my store... probably wouldn't have gone out of business if I had but hey. Time's past.
