Nexus People

JKatkina · Post by **JKatkina** » Sat Aug 05, 2006 11:18 am

Another thing for the Nexus site! Yeah, yeah. I know I'm being a pain in the ass. X3

What I need to know here is, do you want to be listed on the "People" part of the Nexus site, located here? If so, I need to know a few things!

If you want to have a little personal biography-and-stuff page, like this one, fill out the Bio Form, but this is not a requirement for being on the listing! If you don't want to write yourself a biography or have a personal page, just fill out the Non-Bio Form. :)

Animals - cheetahs, cats
Games - City of Heroes, my tabletop rpg World of Zekira
Birthday: July 27, 1967
About: the self-acknowledged Geezer of the Nexus, I've been collecting cyberpets and dragons since around 1999 when I discovered them at Seascape Weyr. First dragon - Shard's blue Jeremoth. I have a tendancy to bite off more than I can chew, and have *gigantic*, *very late* hatchings. Ran the first Frenzy at the Healing Den, to my knowledge the first hybridized dragons from it. Had my site the Kshau Protectorate shut down (albeit briefly) by Anne McCaffrey during the great 'rpg / adoption purge' of 2001. Helped start Alskyr, Icarus, and the Nexus. Main characters include Weyrleader Shard, Baeris Kshau and Lucas Kalkin / Sangers of different descriptions. I also run the Ferilon Farm, the Egyptan Desert, and several other adoption/dragon sites which are inactive but still offer click and takes or are still in progress and not open.

Been Around Since: October 2003

Favorites: Black, red, fire, xenomorphs, predators/yautja, insects, orcas, Dobermans...
Birthday: June 1, 1984
About: Originally lured to the Nexus by a xenomorph-themed Halloween clutch at Serpent's Reach, I stuck around as a colorist for Star City Dragonry, then moved on to my own agency--the Abstract Destiny--after SCD closed. I'm obsessed with anything related to xenomorphs, predators, or the Phantom of the Opera. When not writing or arting for the Nexus, I'm usually found reading (sci-fi and horror) or playing video games (favs include FF7, SW:KOTOR, and Monster Rancher). When it comes to dragons, I like them weird: taurs, multilimbs, hydras, and insectoid structures all make me glee--the only thing that's guaranteed to weird me out is headwings!

Favorites: I tend to live everything and anything, though i hate certain smells, gristle, homophobes, bigots in general, and really loud noises. >.> and I looove bubbletea and animals.
Birthday: 7/13/89
About: I'm pretty new, still considered now, i guess. I twitch, and can't write. I adore my tio, who is the best significant other evah. Everything I do I consider supremely disgusting, from art to stats pages, to especially stories, so don't expect to see much writing out of me, and what writing I do put up I guard jealously. I'm bad at communication, and quite boring to talk to, or else annoying to talk to because the only way I really know how to communicate is through questions. If i get annoying, fend me off. I have a tendency to stand up and obliviously pace every few minutes, so if you're talking to me and my response takes a few minutes, that's why. I have something of a god complex, but it only sticks to mindspace, so that's that. I hallucinate, and bite things, but those are irrelevent unless you know me irl~ Also, if you get a dragon species, please tell me if you're cool with them same-sex breeding or being temporarily modified (like, across the space of a day) to do so, thanks. ^^

About: I'm one of the old fogies of the Nexus. Though I don't go quite as far back as Shard, I can proudly claim to have been there for the first page of posts in the weyrleaders anonymous group. Some day I hope to publish the Chronicles of Tris'Hath along with a few other short novels I have in mind, but for now I'm a psych major at the University of Guelph. My aim is to either get into forensic psychology or animal behaviour. Either way, it's not councelling. My favourite passtimes include slacking off, farting around on the net, staring at nothing, and occasionally berating myself for being lazy. When I'm not occupied with one of those taxing duties, I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, and listening to music. I'd like to say I'm pretty average overall, but I get too many funny looks from people who don't know me to safely claim that. The best way to grab my attention is to dangle an RP in front of my nose.

Been Around Since: Late september 2005, technically, actually joined The Nexus and made dragoning a hobby in June 2006
Location: Michigan, USA. (the middle of nowhere...in Michigan)
Favorites: Dragons, Horses, D&D, Dragons, Animals, etc.
Birthday: 04/19/93 (funny how the last four digits work out eh?)
About: Hmm...I'm weird...and new. No denying it. I enjoy D&D and Neverwinter Nights. I'm still a bit new and this is pretty much the only place i've been able to express myself freely because I feel welcome here. I hate school because where I go it's filled with preps. I just so happen to get good grades. I am a bit withdrawn and I know more than I should about life. Some of the people at School I know say I'm depressed but they only know the side of me I let them see.

Here on The Nexus is where you can find me and not the other people I am to the real world. i'm a litte bit of a pathetic, wothdrawn soul. I've had anxiety attacks since i was eight, hallucinated since I was nine and had a somewhat annoying sixth-sense since I was ten. *shakes head*. I'm odd. No doubt. I'm not used to voicing my true oppinion. Only saying what makes people happy. (not including me) Though within the past while I was happy but over the past two years (due to this friggin' war my dad unfortunatelt got sent to. he's home now) I've withdrawn again, for the third time. I swear I've got a condition of somesort!

As for a picie. i'll try to get my Nexus char (me) a pic.

(It may be confusing but the Shadow I am on the nexus and the Shadow candidate are two different people. So in a sence, there are two "shadows")

Edit that, fix that, do whatever to that cause I'm done with it. I suck at bios about myself and I know i could have done better but I'm not all here and haven't been for the past week.[/url]

Animals: Lemurs, dolphins, dragons, butterflies
Games: D&D, roleplaying, FFVII, SW:KOTOR, SW:KOTOR2, NWN, Freelancer, CoX...
Birthday: 5th December 1979
About: I'm one of the very few males in the Nexus, although if I didn't actually say this, I'm ambiguous enough that nobody would really know for sure. I'm also pretty much the only one who's not a resident of the US or Canada; I'm English, and I'm sticking to my English spellings and date formats. I'm more of a writer than an artist, I think, but as I can only write when I don't think anybody's watching me, I get less done than I'd like. I'm yet another one who wants to get work published, but in the main I think I'm just too lazy to write anything that good. I've run several dragoning agencies in the past, from White River Weyr to Cathair Fionabhainn to Mirus Fortress, and I get so attached to my characters that they live a rather nomadic existance, moving worlds when I do. Poor S'rian, who must be ninety years old by now, has been forced to move worlds twice, and I doubt he's happy about it. In dragons, I like 'taurs, fur and gratuitous appendages; all three together is absolutely perfect. I'm secretive, obsessive-compulsive, an utter perfectionist, and I suffer from near terminal cynicism.

And in line with said secretive-ness, I have no photo's of myself. Merc made me show her one once, but that's a photo from several years ago now. I'll just go draw an avatar, shall I?

Birthday: 2-25-1987
About: Well lessee, I got started in this whole dragoning business back in the days of Dark Moon Weyr where I recieved my first dragon. (light green Vroth) Soon after I started my own little place, and named it Fire Ridge Weyr. Two clutches later I had a minor hiatus in 2001 during the AM scare... which resulted in the development of the Eienic dragons and the brainstorm that would eventually lead to the book Blood Bound. (in progress!! )

Since then I have taken even more hiatuses, ( gimme the Hiatus Queen crown already lol) Mostly due to brain farts, hurricanes, school, work, and the discovery of boys. (LOL)

But now I work as an assistant barn manager at a therapuetic riding center, and I am actively pursing three certificates along with my degree in Veterinary Medicine. And I found that I still love this addiction of mine, despite many detours into the realm of MMORPG's, Gaiaonline, and several deadbeat text RPG's. So I guess I am here to stay afterall, with the place that sparked the creativity and honed the drive that makes me who I am today!

Bio Page Form

Name: Drakiera
Links: http://www.mythicalae.com/
Been Around Since: Almost 10 years? Off and on?
Location: California
Favorites: Cool colours and metallics, rainbowy pastels and opalescents, anything shiiiiiny. Dragons are my favourite critters. Also ... I love reading, writing, drawing, and watching anime. Xenos (yes, OMFG, I *LOVE* Xenos)
Birthday: November 11th, 1981
About: If there was an award for having an ultra flaky crust ... I'd have it. ;p Hrm. Not much to say, really. Drakiera the character is a nut-job, while the writer for her is normally sane, but insanely busy. Work, school, planning a BIG MOVE in December, more work and school, saving money, trying to find arting time where I have none, finding ways to spend virtual time with my current boyfriend/best friend (yes, it's sappy, but ... it's also very true) who lives in another state (and, coincidentally, where I'm moving to), and playing some PC games (Guild Wars and Diablo 2), as well as a MU* and helping to build another MU* (both being D&D-based ... mm, roguely goodness), and did I mention work and school? So, I flux between wild swings of high activity and then months of ... nothing. Nada. Zip. I blame my fickle muses and the fact that I'm a Scorpio, in addition to everything else. ;p

In the land of the Nexus, I run Mythicalae. Yup, the whooooole world. Lotta work. ...no, not really. Geperna are the dragons I'm most (in?)famous for, but I'm starting to branch out into more unusual styles and breeds. The Wyld Whirls are another of my babies ... and probably the most massive undertaking I will ever love to regret. XD Soooo much fun and yet, so much trouble, too. Go figure. ;3 Also ... I'm hopelessly addicted to dragoning and the people involved in it. Have been for almost 10 years now, I think. Looking forward to pulling out of another long hiatus to do fun stuff, though I won't be adopting in the future unless I absolutely feel the need to. Much as I like writing, I can't seem to write *for* anything except myself these days. :/

And that ... um. That's it. :P

Yes, Dray, you can add stuff later, as long as you let me know. X3

Been Around Since: 2001 (that's when I joined what would become the Nexus, in truth I've been adopting dragons since 1997)
Location: Southern California
Favorites: purple, red, burgandy, navy, cream, dragons, horses, drawing, reading, WoW, Jane Austen (most especially Pride and Prejudice)
Birthday: September 4, 1979
About: Having been in the dragoning world for almost ten years now I can probably be considered an old hand at this. This doesn't mean however that I can be counted on to hatch clutches on time or post dragons on time or generally be on time for just about anything unless I am poked unmercilessly by my friends. In non-Nexusian life I am a teacher, a horse trainer/riding instructor, and a perpetual student. I own two horses of my own, and attempt to juggle work, fun, Nexus, and life (wait, no, scratch that last one, I have none!) while still finding time to breathe! I'm a mod on the forum, so expect to be taken down if you cause trouble, but in general, when I /am/ around, I try to be a listening ear, and that person that everyone knows and is friendly with but no one ever really latches on to. >.>
