Mysteries of cats

Those of you who own cats may know what i'm talking about. and it's kind of random and not things people have to know, but i feel lik etelling it~

Yesterday, i learned that my cat died. what happened is located on her memorial character page, located here. IT's sappy as hell, though.

anyway, i came today to my mom's house cuz that was the arrangement, and spent the day out with my grandmother. she was at a party when i got home, so yeah.
I randomly came upstairs at around 5, for a nap, and i happened by hte door because there's this cat around here, a black and white max the neighbors own, named Max that i really like, that i sometimes see around. I didn't see him, but there was another cat playing with my 5 year old neighbor and another one who owns like, 5 cats. And i go over to pet the cat, and we hang around, and they're talking about her. She walked towards me when i wandered over.
She's not owned. I've always assumed she was one of the neighborhood cats, cuz there's a few cats who just wander around as they please, but are owned. This one isn't one of them, apparently. They didn't know who she belonged to, but they're pretty sure she didn't have an owner at the time. she acted like it, too-- when we gave her some cat food, she grabbed it and ran a bit to eat it, before settling in when she figured we wouldn't chase her off. She's also really sweet and firnedly, fine with people and even some dogs, and when the little girl pet her the wrong way she just batted at the hand in that way that cats do to say, don't touch there.
She was being real friendly to me, so much so that the neighbors said she'd adopted me. They thought she was abandoned, owned by these people in the other court who had another cat for sure, but just left them there when they moved. (My mom lives in a town house complex).
Then the people who live next to the house that once had these cats came out, walking her greyhound. She said that she was almost completely certain that the cat had been owned by those people. They were sure about the other cat, who was an outdoors cat and still remians unowned, cuz the other cat was outside all the time. But she'd seen this cat outside and ownerness for as long as they were gone, and she'd been sure they had another cat anyway, so yeah. Other neighbors said the same thing, and the older cat lady was under the impression that i should take her, which i didn't mind.
I carried her across the street, which mildly annoyed her, but she got over to it soon enough and came over to me while i was sitting on the stoop, calling my mom. My mom wouldn't even let me get a word in when i got to her, cuz she doesn't want cats here. Just NO, NO, even when i told her that serandipity, which was what the other lady had decided would be a good name for her, would only be staying the night. So i called dad, becuase i was planning to take her to his house anyway and the descision was up to her. He's cool with it. He didn't want another cat at first, but then again, cats adopt people, so. I told him what happened, and he was cool with it, and told me to just take the damn cat inside.
and i did. she's sitting next to me now. she comes up to me hwneever i hold my hand out. She doesn't mindbeing picked up, but she objects to being held, and she'll stay in your lap and be petted for a few minutes. I fed her some donated food and have a donated litter box over here, and the neighbor offered me a carrioer for her for when i take her home. And if mom complains, I'm gonna tell her frankly that it's both of us going, or both of us stay. It's only a single bloody night, after all. -.- she can't deal with a cat for one bloody night? come on.
But yeah.

There's still a few things to go before Sera is for certain ours. Take her to the vet, of course, maybe get her a bath. (poor vet people). And she has to adjust with the other house-- she has to be an indoor cat, which she wasn't before, so it will be that transition. She has to get along with the other cats, which will take some getting used to but i'm sure they can make the switch-- they've been good about it before. i'm mildly worried about my cat, luna, but i'll be giving her plenty of love. luna was mine before sera adopted me, soyeah.

and.. yeah.

that's the point of this pointless post. i've been adopted by a cat. ;-; she's sweet. older than sienna was, i dunno how old. she's been following me when i get up to pace, and she's sitting a little ways from the chair now, listening to me type.

Wierd how that happens sometimes, isn't it? Cats just find you?

I know how that is...my old cat Cinamin came to us like that, and she was my cat.

Aww, she sounds really cool, DNS. I'm sorry about what happened to your other cat. :/

I'd love to have a cat, but my dad's firmly against it. *sigh*

Sounds like Miss. Technically she's the family cat, Mistie. But my mom picked her out, or rather, Mistie picked us out, shortly after Snuggles died from a family member who had a recent litter of kittens and didn't want 'em. She's adopted me as hers because I'll say "C'mon Miss let's go to bed." and she'll follow me all the way upstairs and lay down in the middle of my bed so i have to move her. I love her to pieces. She used to have a pretty meow but a while ago she got really sick. I mean REALLY sick. and now her meow has never been the same. But I love it cuz it's unique. A little raspy, but unique. She's called my dad's 'alien' when she brings something inside the house. Usually it's half-dead shrews with just enough life left in'em to run and hide before my mom finds it and gives it back to her. She's also brought in birds and bats inside and just let them go so they can fly around untill one of us catches it and let's it go outside. I'll stop babbling about Mis and post a few pictures later I think in the pet's thread. Don't know. I love Sera. She looks like my grandma's old Tom Bitsy. God he was old. He'd be older than me if he were still alive. He was ancient. He got killed by a coon is what we all think cuz he was killed in my grandma's basement with a spilled can of green paint and coon tracks. No body though. I'll stop babbling about my cat's now.

i think all cats choose thier people.

i know out fat cat Jemm choose us. She loves one of the roomies and warmed up to everyone else. (adn frequent visitors to the point where she sleeps on thier chests if she likes them enough) We choose little cat. and little cat is mine. She sleeps with me every chance she gets, Purrs and demands attention when i read books.

I like the sound of your kitties, shadow. ;-; reminds me of some kitties i've had. It's amazing to have cats, they're all unique and strange~

Ad current, I only have two other cats. My luna, who's huge because she almost starved to death as a kitten, and doesn't associate with anyone but me unless I'm not home, and Mocha, A small boy cat who pretends to own the place. <3 ^^

;-; poor kitty. -hugs- I read as much. and aww, my cats don't chase mice. We don't have many mice to chase. Mocha used to, and sienna did when she was alive. I dunno bout seraph, though.

The house is roughly 106 years old and definatly looks better than the abandoned house down the road. My mom and dad are hopeing to fix it up a bit but i think it's just another summer dream. That's all anything is really. They want to do it, plan to do it, but we don't because of money and time that we don't have. Ah well, a chore for another day.

i have three cats 2 are mine and one is moms. One acts like she is the queen and shouldn't be bothered and if you do she glares at you like your head should be chopped off.

The second one is an evil little kittie she attacks our lab mix. but i love her anyways. She is also having a problem lately were is somthing bugs her she wil pee on the couch. it is pissing mom off thought and if i can't make her stop we have to make her an out door cat again but she is way to fat for that. serious she can cover a whole history text book just by laying on it.

The third one is a playful kittie she runs around like a maniac all the time.

Oh, i wish i could ahve kept the cat that adopted me where i use to live. She would come sit int eh computer room with me, and mew untiol i fed her Tuna. XD i named her morgue. She looked half dead when She adopted me. and i fed her till she fatteened up. Then when i moved i couldn't find her to take her with me. (she was indoor/outdoor cat)
