Coloring advice

Post by Wanderer »

I'm currently working on a drawing and as shortly it'll get to the point where it'll have to be colored and....I'm kind of lost given this will be the first drawing of mine thats ever gone beyond the rough sketch stage. So I wanted to ask you all, given your readily evident skill, if you have any advice/tips you would like to share. Thanks in advance for any and all help.:)

If it helps, all I currently have atm is MS paint and some old color pencils...need to go shopping. >.>

If you have a scanner, that's all you should need. :) If you're planning on coloring by hand, scanners are annoyingly difficult at getting 'exactly' the right colors copied. Since I only use psp 8 I can't really help you with the mspaint, though I have seen some miraculous color jobs out of it.

Colouring with MSpaint is hard, and tedious, but hey, if you can pull it off, it looks bloody amazing. ;-; <3~ You'll just need to have to pixil-shade or something, and i have no clue how to do that. ^^; Looks bloody awesome, though.
I think there's some programs floating around here-- i've got a copy of CS for bootlegging, but I can't get it working for the life of me. ._. 'course, now i got ps7, so i don't need it, but yes. fish.
or you could colour by hand. Scanning can be a crackhead, but if you can get it to work, hand-drawn peices are lovely. ;-; <3~

Thanks, and yeah I do have a scanner fortunatly. I'm also doing it by hand, at least the lineart, assuming the angle of perspective ever stops giving me trouble... >.>
