DF's.....Thing! (Pickups! First Set)

Ok! So you've probably already seen this posthere regarding what's going on. So here we go!

DF's current little endevour this time around (all of these will have little stories to go along with them when they hatch) has four parents which were selected at random. They are as follows, for the curious.

Feyesta
Ghost Of Chance
Oeseparamay
Viscor

DF has decided that this time around, she will be producing 17 little beasties from these parents.

Five are reserved - one for each parent, and one she's keeping.
This leaves 12 of them that will be going out to new homes.

So here's how this one will work. They are adult-stage only (the template is about half complete right now). Though for purposes of story, they grow like any other. ^^

The last time DF had a 'special event', she pulled the hopefuls into a sort of a contract, just to make sure things went the right way. She won't be doing that this time. But she's still wary of sending away her 'children', so....

Hopefuls for the clutch must have had previous experience with raising a dragon. This can be in the form of a bond, or just a sponsor. (IE, previously-used characters only.) These younglings won't have to bond (but they still might!) so you can list your preference.

This is not first come first serve, but a random draw. Minimal entry is a stats sheet belonging to a character that has already raised (or is raising) a dragon, and cannot be standing anywhere else at the same time. Standard rule stuff. Prefered submissions would include a small story regarding an individual's interest in this 'thing', but is not required. (However, including a story may increase your chances in the draw over an entry without one.)

In the future, I may not impose a limit on the egg count, it depends on the interest. But right now, it stays.

There is no deadline yet, but when I select one, it could end up being anywhere from two days later to over a week - so if you want time, start now. ^_~

Since no one has submitted yet, I'll bump this with an unfinished preview. XD All the traits aren't even on there yet. >3 (And it's obviously bigger than that, silly Photobucket.)

Ah, my apologies for not clarifying. Parents with reserves do not need to submit anything to recieve one of their offspring, though you certainly can if you like. ^^

It's up to you whether or not you think he'll share. They didn't when they were young, but obviously, they could be a bit more mature by now. <_<;

I'm in the midst of choosing who's qualified among my guys to bring. I'll likely wind up with a Sanger of some sort, though which one I'm not sure yet.

loo, dns is interested. These characters we submit already have to have a draggy? In which case, do they have to be a dragon we've adopted from somewhere here, or can i use one of my old roleplay characters, or fishes?

Well, I intended it for characters which have already bonded or sponsored from around the Nexus or another site, but since you haven't been around so much and stuff, I'll accept an older character if you have an appropriate story to 'prove his/her worth' on the subject. Since for plotline purposes, the event requires responsible individuals.

Nomnom. just a few more questions and i'll get out of your hair: Is there a link to somewhere that'll describe the setting to me? How do our potentials find out? Are they like, searched out, or is there just a rumor about the hatching, or what? and, um. There's probably more, but I'm doing pages for those alabaster transffers that shard was offering, so i'm braindead.

DF's locale is really transfers by word of mouth only. She does not advertise or search people out. The locale info can be found in my Special Event post further down - but a quick summary is that DF's 'lair' is located on Kynn (my world) in the only underwater city in the world.

Gwaaahhh so much work and so much delay. Ok, soooo......

I'm going to now set a deadline for this event. I will take entries up until June 24th. Remember, there are a finite number of dragons here, so the number of submissions can define certain results.

Unless, of course, people would prefer an infinite number, with stories required. <_<;;

And I'm babbling. Blah.

Warning! A little less that two weeks to this deadline.

I have decided that it won't be a fixed number clutch, just cause I dunno if there will be a rush or anything and I dun wanna end up with extras. So it has turned into a submit-as-you-please deal, though it's still 'experienced characters' only.

Stats or Story (or both if you want) required. I'm not picky which one.

I wasn't going to send anyone but I might actually have Elano try for a third dragon -- he has two already, both of whom are related to these guys (Feyesta is Daraeas' (his first bond) sister, and one of their siblings donated to the gene pool from which Confatis (his second bond) came), so they could all be one happy family. Plus I know that Elano would love a third bond if he were allowed -- is three bonds too many, or would that be all right?

Can we send you a dragon/thing? and if we do send you such a dragon, do they have to have experiencing with bondings and such, since they were the ones who wou;d've been bonding?

It's not dumb. But yes, they need experience. Because it's not an experience in 'bonding'. (You can send an unbonded sponsor as long as he's raised at least one.) It's experience in caregiving to a youngling. Not everyone's got built-in instincts to care for a creature outside their species, and DF wants to be sure they'll do a good job.

That still leaves me with very few characters to submit, since of the upwards-fourty characters I've sent to the various places on nexus as candidates, maybe six have bonded. ah, the curse of being new and deadlines existing. >.> But you did say I could use my roleplay characters, and i have the giveaway ones..
