Yay :D

Post by Cy »

Not sure where this goes exactly but I'll put here.

My art teacher from last semester really liked a poster I did during class one day on the computer. She had taken to a print shop and printed huge. It was in the school arrt show, won, and was selected to go into the citywide artshow. Since I wasn't happy with the poster since I didn't think it was very good, so I had pretty much forgotten about it. Until I got home today. There was a message on the answering machine to come by the newspaper office place to have my picture taken because I'd won second place :D So, I won't be going to the state level, but I am the youngest winner, at 16, in quite a few years :D

It really cheered me up.

The end lol

If I can get a picture of it... actually, I think I have a few... Hang on.

The picture barely shows any detail.
But yea
I hated it :/
Apparently other people didn't.

The assignment that class was to recreate any existing piece of artwork
With a twist
My teacher considered cartoons artwork :D

That looks awesome! I can see why your teacher liked it!

And I know how you feel...it is the artist's curse that we are rarely happy with anything we create...even when people gush over it and praise us to the high heavens for creating it! XD

That is a fun-looking poster. Congrats! Very cool for you. :D

Is there a specific cartoon it's based on?
How come you never see a headline like "Psychic Wins Lottery"?

Yes, it was done based off Tinkerbell.
She's pretty nasty in the book and somewhat in the movie
So I redid her to give her more of an attitude.

Thanks everyone :)

She was a total bitch. :)

The best portrayal of Tinkerbell ever was in a comic called "LOST" which never finished, which was a shame because it was the most amazing adaptation of the Peter Pan story EVAR. They were ... vampires. :D

http://highqualitycomics.com/rawpics/lost1mc.jpg not a pic of her, but wow. :) If you can find the 3 or 4 issues that got made, they're well worth reading, of course then they END without closing the story...

Is Lost in any way related to the '89 movie The Lost Boys? Because that had vampires too :] *Love for vampires yay*

No it's not, the Lost comic? Was much MUCH darker... :) I loved that movie too but I never saw it more than a couple times. I did'nt see it in theaters which is a shame, because all that gorgeous manmeat in one movie.....

The Lost comic has the kids - since they are young anyway, as basically child prostitutes... looking for new meat. Hook is really REALLY pissed as I recall, because Pan CHANGED HIM into a vampire... :D mmmm. :) not the other way around, unless I'm mistaken... heh. really wonderful twists...
