So, I've gotten it into my head that because I've got so many creatures, dragons, and what have you so scattered about..... And that some people have asked where they can see things..... Well, I was considering working out some sort of site-based search engine for myself.
I've been looking into the MySQL capabilities on my domain host, and it's all fine, and I've even started scanning the tutorials on how it works.
My question is, has anyone ever used MySQL before? And if so, for what? I have the PHP search script which can access a database, I'm just curious if anyone has done it before.
On that note, how would you like to see results displayed? I was thinking like, the name of the creature (or creatures, if the query turns up more than one) with its link on my site, and perhaps where it's from, its species/breed, and gender? I would think that adaquate, but I don't know, and I'd like to have a plan before I start, considering that I'll need to record all necessary data for the input in a big file, so I want to get it right the first time. ^_~
