EDIT: Apparently the doctor moved my dad's appointment AGAIN and we're not going until Thursday, so I'll be gone Thursday-Friday. :/

Hey everyone -

This isn't going to change much, and I'm only going to be gone one day, hopefully, but I just wanted to let everyone know XD

I have to go to Mexico on Wednesday with my dad, who's getting a stem cell injection. Because stem cell procedures are illegal in the US, we have to go over the border for them :{

For anyone who doesn't know, five years ago on Thanksgiving Day, my dad was putting up Christmas decorations when he fell off of an 8-foot ladder to the concrete. He sustained massive brain trauma, and was pronounced dead on the spot until my aunt (a nurse) shoved the paramedics out of the way and did CPR until my dad was breathing again. My dad was in the deepest level of coma for six months until he "woke up" and was allowed to come home. However, he can't walk, talk correctly, eat normal foods, or go to the bathroom on his own. His memories are more or less there, he knows who we all are and remembers his life, but his personality has 180ed and he's very childish and mean now :{

We've tried everything and every form of therapy possible over the last five years, and nothing's helped. The stem cell procedure is kind of like my mom's last hope for making my dad "normal" again... I've been against it from the start for numerous reasons but she's going through with it anyway :{ I don't think it'll be the "miracle" she's hoping for, and I think she's putting so MUCH hope into it that she'll be crushed... but I do hope I'm proven wrong on that account :/

So I'll be unavailable from Wednesday to Thursday, and -possibly- longer if something goes wrong either with the procedure, with my dad's recovery, or with Mexico in general >_> I hope I don't get my kidneys stolen...

Anyway, I'm usually such a chat-and-forum lurker that I didn't want anyone to get worried if they didn't see me for a few days XD
