What level is Lusca and where? :D Cause I'm just that suicidal.

Lusca is a Giant Monster (cons purple and is hit at whatever equal level to your own you manage - so everyone from 1 to 50 will hit it to the best of their ability, and she's got 14thousand hp) spawining in the southern half of Independance Port. That's a 21-29 range zone, so it'll be a while for you.

She works best, like all Giant Monsters do, in full teams of 8. You'd be up at the front line obviously, since you're a scrapper. I have done my best to keep people alive doing monsters but with a small group or not enough others it's very hard as a healer. Those tentacles drop down and do a cone of huge damage and knockback, I literally went FLYING since my hover from teleport was still on, I got knocked through the air!

She also sprays ink though rarely. You have to combat each of the 8 tentacles and then the head. You get a badge for doing a certain amount of damage on her, and a fair amount of xp but usually I don't get much from her since I'm often in debt - from her earlier attacks... :p

Thank goodness the debt cap is only 5 deaths now instead of 10...

In tackling Lusca, I'd also advise you get the whole team to spread out, so if a tentacle comes down, less of you die. And always take on a tentacle that's not got too many other tentacles around it, if possible. I'm good at killing Lusca... I don't die that often (anymore). Waiting til level 50 won't help you much, though... Lusca's level scales to yours, and so she's just as tough when you're level 50 as she is when you're level 30. Four of us took on Lusca in our early twenties, and that was fun. It took forever, but...

XP Debt is what you get when you die, if you're level 10 or higher. Basically while you have Debt, you only gain half XP, while the other half goes towards clearing the debt. So it slows your leveling, pretty much, so not getting it is always a good idea. When I first started playing, there wasn't a Debt Cap, and I met a guy who was about level 8 or so with 14,000 Debt. Suffice to say, he scrapped that character.

Worst Team evar?

lol - Tonight Mystic and I were on a ... team... and I use the word loosely.

She invited ME mmkay? And I said Yes, mmkay? They were already at the Hollows mission "defeat Frostfire" - anyone who's played knows ff is an elite dude who's quite tough. He spawns jack frosts and fire imps - hence his name - which are pet minions to attack for him. But the bonus here was that this was a full team, and since the quantity of team members dictates the number of spawns in a mission... there were SO many bad guys in this room...

Anyways... We apparently kicked 'Mr Spinach man' or some shit (what a RETARD) ... I don't think you saw him, Mystic, I watched him go into a room around the corner from where the rest of us were, and let off a AOE (area of effect for those trying to follow the lingo lol) electric attack that aggroed like a dozen more guys. We were trying to pull and pick them off one by one but NO this retard goes off all LEEROY JENKINS style, and gets half of us killed - Multiple Times.

So then we get a reasonably good tanker, to soak damage and take aggro - but he LEAVES right before the big battle with Frostfire... I think the team leader didn't even know that until after the first 2 times we died in there. So he gets a new tank, who runs in all right - but NOT hitting FF himself, noooo. Off to the side, just la la la... As I faceplant yet again in almost the same spot... blah.

We did finally get the bastard but man. I guess 2 or 3 folks leveled (including Tigeress?) and I'm closer to 12 now, but sheesh. Here is what it looked like from my dead ass perspective...

This is why I hate pickup groups...

:P Okay, not my fault they were that bad! I had only joined a few minutes ago myself. ALSO, I got into one team where they decided the base missions were "too stupid", so they went off and attacked lvl 12 Trolls instead. This was when I was lvl 10. Needless to say, I died once then left the team.

And would you ever be up to making me your sidekick? :D I'll be good! I promise!

Retail is almost 45, which pretty much gives you access to any but the very highest areas (where hamidon dwells and the shadow shard, nasty places I haven't even seen yet). And at least now that I've got most of the primary empathy powers, I like teaming with scrappers.

*we* did a fine job. It was the choice of tankers and crap that really was amazingly bad in that team..

Their leader, the big guy he's fighting, is called Teh Pwnxxzors. I shit you not. For defeating him and his goons, my bro earned the Pwns badge. I giggled for at least ten minutes.

Just noticed if you have the Test Server client (which has instructions in the test server portion of the forums) ((you copy the updater.exe into a testserver directory and add -test to the exe properties of a *second shortcut* (not the original), and then you can copy your toons over to it to play with - instructions on the forums are *much* better))

... They're still using the 36 MILLION prestige giveaway for test toon SUPERBASES.....

Before I got kicked (they kicked everything but the test server and then all came back up BUT they then booted the test server booooo) I had a GINORMOUS base setup in progress. I plan on keeping at it, so if ANYONE wants to come and play with the base creator to see what you can REALLY do with it (With megabucks of prestige that's quite hard to come across in game) please download the test client (or copy it, whatever) and copy over your tooooons! It can be made, remade, destroyed, deleted, and all that, everyone will have permissions to change rooms up (not the whole base, but there are sooo many rooms) and place whatever items we can afford.

ANY server character can be put into the test server!! Thats the one place we can all meet and greet... However, test server toons DO NOT HAVE ANY INFLUENCE. None. So... that's the only frustrating part.

Ooooh yeah and I don't know if you have to have cov to run the test server base thing.

Not really sure! It's the test server! I should find that out. But anyway, IF you can and if it works without cov, anyone is welcome!! I can put you on the supergroup roster (Retali8rs lol) and plaaaay.

CURSED!

I am CURSED when it comes to FF! This is -what?- the FOURTH time I've tried beating him, and once again I had to bail! That bloody server reset came at the worst possible time EVER! I was so close, and then my whole team died cause we were rushing to get to FF before the reset! AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGG!!!

Yeah now that she's high enough to do it... I suck so much... I finally dinged 46, and teamed up for a while so I'm halfway to 47 but sheesh it took me 6 months to get where you are

I have Segs in Protector and Khayawen in Triumph. I tried that name, Shard, in global, but it didn't work unless the free-trial is prohibiting that...*shrug* Segarra is all in white, long blond hair. I just got Segarra out of the trial stage and into the actually city.

I don't know what my global is, unless it's my account name, Khayawen...*blinks* Anyway, Segs will be running around occasionally.

But I have to go to work so sometime after seven (central) I should get back on. *blink*

The globals that we're talking about can be entered when you're in the Friends tab, but you have to click the thing on the top of that tab to say "global". It has options for "global ignore" and other chat rooms you might be on (like I'm on the w00tradio chat, a healers chat, etc, and it lists the folks in those chat features).

When you enter the game, you should see in the chat area your "you are logged on as xYour Namex", if you don't see a message, try changing the tab to another (combat, top, chat, bottom, your own custom tabs, etc).

And Lakota I've got toons all over everywhere, I was just in champion with DarkRedPanda, and ARRRRR my brute.

For me it sometimes depends on whether I want to hang out with the w00t radio folks and just dance and chat, or whether I'm going to do missions.

edit: oh yeah! Lakota's post reminded me, you have to put an @ symbol before the name for global!

XD It's not as noticeable with hair. But, as Shard mentioned, the hat doesn't come with hair. Boo! So I went back to having hair. Yay! But I'm keeping the Santa hat in my icon. :3
