So I was at work when I thought of this question and felt the need to ask the board. You can tell how much I focus on work at work...
How do people write Hy-dragon personalities?
I guess I may have to clarify that a bit... Do you go with the one collective personality a la true blood hydras, or do you give each head its own personality? Each ruling head its own personality?
A full blood hydra, despite having an ungodly number of heads, only has one dominant personality. So for a beast, like, say 30-headed Toth, it's like having one mind shared between all 30 heads. The 'ruling' heads come from which heads have the majority of the 'brain'. Some of Toth's lesser heads are little more than another set of eyes, ears and teeth for the ruling head's use.
I was just curious to see if people writing for their hy-dragons have stuck to this, or whether they've expanded on it.

I've given almost all of my hy-dragons (I have a few exceptions, such as Psyche who hasn't been drawn...) a single personality, same with the Kirintor (Fantasan/Kien hydras). I see the other heads as having some control when the main head isn't focused upon using them and acting more beast-ish. But yeah, one personality almost across the board.
I don't have all that many hydra at all, but the couple I have are generally single dominant. Even Ecothet (perhaps especially ecothet) his two main heads are usually in agreement and the minor ones must go along with em. Then there's Inga, whose heads all have their own *names* but they are largely representing one single mind. Maybe they each have... 1/37th a brain...
But then Inga's not a hy-dragon.

I don't have that many, except for the ones I've drawn myself (think the only non-mine drawn would be Turguin, and he's got one personality, though three heads) and I usually stick with one personality--though I haven't accually worked on fleshing out some of them, so it may change.
I have seen some people givng the multi-headed creatures I've given out different personalities, and sometimes different names, and they don't have hydra blood in them.
