Here is a teaser:

They live in the deepest ranges of the ocean, but they are definitely *dragons* which have adapted thoroughly to life at that depth and pressure. Sleek, with four limbs and exotic 'fins' designed to attract both prey and mates, they glow with a fascinating array of color.
They can grow from around 1.5 feet in length at hatching (from leathery shells deposited in the silty sand) to over 100 feet long, though based on their diet they can grow quickly or slowly over their lifetime, peaking or going progressively but never getting smaller. They prefer to chase their meals, and will swim upwards into the middle depths to have more substantial prey, but they will also sometimes resort to bottom feeding on the animals around their lairs.
These dragons are intelligent but bored. Given that they can change their color-schemes and produce dancing lights, they may have a complicated language of color and pattern, seen dimly through the darkest oceans.
Basically I took the best bits of several creatures I like, and put them together into a slinky draconic shape. They do not need bonds, and would be okay around other dragons, unless there is too much competition for food. They come in both genders, and can interbreed with other *draconic* species, of the appropriate size and deep sea type. (ie: a feathery gryphon won't be pairing up with them...)
