Yep~ that's what it is, to my knowledge. :/ Someone also told me that the cows suffocate becuase they're to big to get back on their feet, but i dunno how true that is. I do know that animals like horses and prolly cows do suffocate if they lay on their sides, because gravity and their bodies crush...
