Prefer only small numbers of "pets" around themselves, and also prefer specific appearances for their pages when put up
Can interbreed with other similarly-sized creatures freely, this is a 'Bred by Zekiran animal masters for hundreds of centuries' thing
All of them can communicate and are intelligent, self-aware creatures. They may have variations on mental or physical speech, dreams, or other such methods when they cannot speak the local tongue.
Their powers can be 'magic' or 'psychic' as needed, they do not cast spells, all their abilities are innate
