Sendarat is a proud creature, though he knows his place among the literal god-like powers of the Arx well enough not to get killed, or worse. Instead, he has taken to a kind of middle-management role: He supervises the wastes of flesh that scurry around the Arx and make snacks for the larger dragons (literally or by bringing back tithes from hunting). He rarely also keeps track of humanoids who bond with these useless beasts. Sendarat has a pair of humans he keeps under closest watch: a mated pair who he quite likes the voices of. He does not call them his bonds, but he is keeping them in mind for special beasts (lower in rank than him, of course) to keep him entertained and to 'collect', for lack of a better term.
Sendarat is a mean, small-minded beast who only feels good at the end of the day if he's made someone else miserable, but he tends not to maim and murder in the way that others do. Instead, he enjoys more creating a sense of dread and foreboding, steeping in it by assigning gruelling, pointless work in among the real tasks required by the Arx.
Sendarat does have a kind streak, however. Those who rise to his challenges earn his respect (and woe be to them for it.) These beasts and humanoids he uses as examples to those who would slouch on the job, lavishing with praise and (sometimes inappropriate) affection. Because the Arx is run so loosely (and so predilected upon fear of those in power) there is very little that Sendarat can't do in his small corner of this space. He is kept in check by higher powers, on occassion, but he is also 'gifted' with troublesome dragons who need to be whipped into shape. |
