Rubin is a very slender man who stands at about 5'8", a little shorter than the average human male at the Nidus. His skin is also extremely pale, easily burned, and therefore sometimes quite pink in the summer months. His hair is pale, too, bleaching as quickly as his skin burns. He's got a bit of pigment to him, though, expressed in his dark blue eyes and in the flicks of gold and green one can see when he's in direct sunlight.
Rubin dresses informally, nearly to the point of sloppy, but he keeps his longish hair in braids that fall down to near the base of his neck. His posture is always a little slouched or deferent, like he isn't quite sure of himself and how he fits into any social gathering. Rubin seems most at-home by himself and with his several little raccoon-gryphons, where his entire posture and way of being seem more relaxed and dreamy, un-selfconscious of being perceived.

Rubin is not a people-person, though he has managed to get by with the divas of the Nidus mostly by catering to their egos and their whims. He's always been drawn to far-away places, but that is in the form of books and guides, rather than having a personal interest in travel.
No, Rubin is a little too anxious to go far from home. That's both literal and metaphorical: he prefers to stay home, compose music and play it out on one of several instruments, or brew himself something to drink and curl up with a book. He also keeps from highly social endeavours and only attends rehearsals when absolutely required, usually to see how his work is being received by those who would perform it.
When he's by himself, or rather, when he's at home with pets and others who he doesn't need to speak with, he becomes relaxed and comfortable and really shines. He is naturally a dreamer, and it's in this sheltered space that his talents come to light. Here, he can imagine wild to-do's and adventures, heart-rending losses and triumphant wins, which he places into musical form. Those who live around him are subject to bits and snatches of beautiful songs, and some like to brag that they got to hear them before they were watered down in the larger community.
