Personality: |
Qimmiq might be one of the few water benders remaining in the village that understands in full why their parents and grandparents were exiled, and why they can never go back. He, himself, has simmered for years in the spoiled potential of what it would have meant if their forebears had been able to see the potential of their leader realized. Water is the lifeblood of worlds, and their leader had learned the secrets of the moon and tides, of the blood of the planet itself. Creating a network of focus between the spirits and the physical manifestation of water, their leader had control of the world at their fingertips... but the and their co-conspirators were exposed by some damned kids.
This was decades, ago, and a full generation past the initial exile. There's nothing to rebuild; their leader was shackled to his network, a thoughtless puppet to the whims of nature, and the co-conspirators-- the settlers at Nidus Insula, left to heal and forgive and learn to live in peace. Qimmiq is one of the very few who resents this, but he has made it quite clear that he won't act on it. He's had to dull his senses not to boil in his own resentment, however, and it's had a negative impact on his life.
Beneath all of this, Qimmiq is highly intelligent, clever with words and languages, and he loves exploring different ways of being and thinking. He keeps a journal from his grandparents' travels and the original settling of the Nidus village and knows it by heart. In his better months, he'll be persuaded to tell of some of their heroic adventures, though he's had a stern talking to not to share some of the reasons all those adventures fell to pass. He hates bearing secrets and could not even win a hand of poker, let alone foil any conspiracies, which is another reason that he chooses to drink alone.
