In Chice in particular, this functional magic is augmented by consumption of copper in its raw or elemental form. Without copper, she can survive, but even smallish amounts combined with her functional magic send her alight again. When possible, she chooses to be alight because it is luxuriantly comfortable.
Grant Temporary Invulnerability: This dragon can cause rapid rehealing to the point of invulnerability for up to a week if she sheds tears over another being. These tears must, however, be shed in real distress or sorrow. They cannot bring back the dead, though they can bring a creature on the brink of death back to perfect health.
Shifting (Unlimited): This dragon can transform into any shape, be it corporeal or made of fire. Chice in particular must work harder to maintain a purely corporeal form, and when she does, she usually creates a lick or a wreath of fire somewhere on her being.
Immortality (Phoenix): Every 300 years, this dragon must build a pyre of myrrh and copper upon which it will self-immolate, only to be born anew. In this way, it is able to live forever. The dragon can still be killed by a fatal blow, though it will not die of old age unless it cannot perform the proper immolation ritual.
Personality: Chice is a very unusual dragon, in that she is not only on fire, she is completely made of fire. She is nearly a fire elemental, save that her life-span is restricted to certain rites and rituals. More correctly, she could probably be called a Copper Elemental, as her fire is fueled by copper and she must consume this metal in any form to keep it glowing that brilliant blue.
Perhaps because of her oddness, Chice is quite interested in collecting other Nexiians to her that share in her love of fiery things and places. Her personality is magnetic: she is playful and energetic, talkative and curious. Her voice is a lilting crackle and is tinged in blue light even when speaking mind to mind. Chice is observant enough to be able to read most species' body-language, though she has more luck with quadrupeds than bipeds and humanoids.
Chice instinctually gravitates towards balance and harmony, meaning that she never plays mean pranks, nor does she praise without reason. Those who are drawn to her seem to seek her approval on things, even though she may be younger than them; she seems to have a good eye for the way the world works, and can determine the gestalt of her small community with apparent ease.
When she dispersed from the Bower at a young age, Chice followed the siren song of others of her kin not to a world, but above it. There is a small satellite orbiting the world of Aleph: one natural moon, and one stationary artificial one locked over the landmass of the united Niduses. Chice has made her home base in a magical grotto on the natural satellite where some of her distant cousins (both in terms of blood-relation and oddity) meet to gift her with ore deposits in exchange for her stories of the surface. Chice, in return, teleports down to the Niduses and gleans stories and news of the people there to share with her cousins. She has become an entrancing story-teller, weaving mundane details into poetry. Because her cousins are long-lived creatures with comparatively vast patience, Chice has learned to spend a great deal of time on the little details. Many shorter-lived beings would find her retellings to be inutterably boring and maybe even pedantic... but she's grown to know her audience.

	Fire Control: This dragon can control local fires up to 100 yards, from the size of a spark to that of a blazing building. These fires can be manipulated to be hotter, cooler, exinguished or whipped into a blaze.
	Fire Immunity: This dragon is immune to natural flames, though the power behind certain magical flames may still cause damage.
	Fire Molting: This dragon will molt every decade or so, losing feathers and flames (including its ability to immolate). Molting takes about one month. The dragon is still immune to fire during molting.
	FireSong: This dragon can hear the blood of any other strong fire magic user or fiery creature from several miles away. It can broadcast a signature version of this song, making it easy for other firebirds to locate one another.
	Flame Creation: This dragon can cause magical flame to erupt even in damp conditions. These kinds of flames cannot ignite in wet ones, and are easier to create in drier conditions.
	Heat Requirement: This dragon requires living conditions that are somewhere between warm and extremely hot in order to regain its strength. The dragon doesn't need to eat, as it slowly feeds magically upon heat.
	Immolation: This dragon can burst into extremely hot flames that cover up to two feet out from its body, and is unharmed in the process.
	Long Lifespan: This dragon can live up to 450 years.
	Spark Travel: This dragon can travel to any destination regardless of distance by burning up and resparking in a new body. It may use this ability four times throughout its life.
Personality:	When Feuerzer first discovered the Nexus, the sheer number of other dragons was a shock. He stumbled over Chice with the aid of his FireSong, and hasn't left the fiery creature since. Feuerzer is laid back, despite his fiery nature, and enjoys taking a background role to Chice's sociable, magnetic personality. Their relationship is somewhat symbiotic: Feuerzer feeds from Chice's flames and heat, though he doesn't damage her in the process. Chice acknowledges this part of their relationship and will often leave him 'presents' in terms of flaming logs or patches to rest in or on. Because Chice spends much of her time offworld, Feuerzer has become her eyes and ears on the ground of Aleph. He travels between the Niduses and brings them news and some of Chice's stories (though much abridged), and helps them with any tasks that require his unique abilities. Then, Chice and he do their own catching up before she brings his information up out of the gravity well. It's a strange arrangement, to be sure, and Feuerzer would like to settle somewhere hot like, say, the mouth of a volcano, but he trusts Chice and appreciates her keeping those beings who look over the planet on everyone's good side.
